Remedial Works

Rapid-response rectification of electrical faults and non-compliance findings — cost-effective, BS 7671 compliant, and minimum disruption to your operations.

Swift, Cost-Effective Rectification

Receiving an unsatisfactory electrical report can put real pressure on your business. At Vanguard Compliance, we understand the urgency — and we are here to help you resolve issues quickly, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with BS 7671.

We will always seek the most logical, cost-effective solution, whether that means upgrading a C2 finding to a C3 where appropriate, or carrying out the necessary remedial work to bring your installation up to the required standard.

Our rapid-response rectification service is designed to get your operations running smoothly again with minimum disruption — often completed on the same visit as the original inspection.

Common Remedial Work We Carry Out

  • High earth fault loop impedance (Zs) — bringing impedance within acceptable limits
  • Open circuit on ring continuity — locating and repairing ring circuit breaks

  • Damage to IP-rated equipment — repair or replacement of enclosures and fittings
  • Non-compliant bonding — supplementary and main bonding upgrades
  • Outdated wiring systems — partial or full rewiring to current standards

Understanding Observation Codes

When you receive an EICR, findings are coded by severity. Here is what each code means for your next steps:

C1

Danger present — immediate remedial action required before the installation can be used safely.

C2

Potentially dangerous — urgent remedial action required as soon as possible.

C3

Improvement recommended — not immediately dangerous but should be addressed.

FI

Further investigation required — additional testing needed to determine severity.
